Creating work in the public forum is for me an opportunity to address the notions of sculptural gesture through scale, interactivity, space and time. To create a sense of place that references the local as it speaks to the global.

The work created for the 2nd Idiorrhythmic titled Reflective Resonance addresses the notion of journeys, both as a literal and/or a poetic reference to our journeys of life. The sculpture is a fabricated metal creation that integrates the notions of connection and conjunction with the present and the future. Reflective Resonance is composed of three simple elements that together act to form a new descriptive space of dramaturgical interconnection. This new narrative is intended to refer to the contemporary and the historical as it speaks to the city and the village.

Reflective Resonance consists of two simplified versions of a shallow bottomed riverboat and a bridge like structure. The two boats, which are facing each other, act as supports and refer to the traditional ways of the river. While the bridge structure with its shape and pattern that traverses the supports is a reference to the modern.

Reflective Resonance creates a new relationship between these objects, which refers to the past as something to honor and to appreciate in the context of going forward on a journey.
