Safe House, 2018, cast iron and vintage scythes, 30”x30”x 66”. Solid gone, group exhibition Sordoni Art Gallery, Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Safe house addresses the precarious journeys of life by using a set of vintage utilitarian tools held upright in a balanced state by a cast iron house framework. This work is a playful yet threatening act of engagement that seeks to address the tensions between the human vision of nature and the natural in its quest to create a contemporary civilization.
